NCFFI announces qualifier dates for international float and feeder teams.
The National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland (NCFFI) has announced dates for next year’s Float and Feeder Team qualifier events.
Run over six weekends between April and October 2012, the qualifying matches will be used to pick the very best anglers to compete in the 2013 World, European and Celtic Cup teams.
The qualifiers will all be fished in an All Ireland Qualifier format to full CIPS rules and will be open to all anglers who are members of NCFFI affiliated clubs.
At the end of the matches, Team Ireland manager Mark Theedom will chose float anglers from the top 20 and feeder anglers from the top half of the respective disciplines.
Mark is hopeful that the format will see plenty of anglers turn out to try and compete for their country, saying: “Anglers are not required to fish all matches, but by adopting this system we would hope to encourage more anglers to try for the national team, obviously the more qualifiers you fish the greater the chance of selection.”
Over each weekend float fishing will take place on the Saturday and feeder fishing on the Sunday, with all date are subject to fishing/water conditions on the venues selected.

Individual anglers who are not intending to fish the series but wishing to fish individual qualifiers in their local area will be charged a 15euro fee which will also go to team funds.
Optional pools with a 100percent payout may be organised by the participating anglers.
